2+2=5 - Into The Future CD Reissue

Spittle brings them back to life with this amazing CD reissue, that contains 2 bonus tracks, "Guangzhou" taken from "F/Ear This!" Compilation LP and
"Incontrando Mc.L." taken from "Zero Zero fanzine" Compilation Tape.
13th Chime - Complete Discography
CD
14,99€
(Label: Sacred Bones)Earlier this year Sacred Bones released the singles collection from 13th Chime which collected the scant few recordings released during their brief lifetime as well as a handful of heretofore unheard demos and alternate recordings. With their blend of dark driving aggression and sparse arrangements for a brief moment in time the band seemed poised to breakout of the day to day of slogging it out in clubs and onto the international radar but through a series of mishaps ended up a footnote and dissolving into obscurity.

Area - The Perfect Dream CD
Reissue 11,99€ (Label: Project)Third album for Area, released in 1987. Area is Lynn Canfield, Henry Frayne, and Steve Jones. Radio Caroline is a set of modern angst with sparse instrumentation and dark timbres. Canfield is an exceptional torch singer. Her expressive vocals dominate the soundscapes and, thus, the entire CD. The atmospheres support her husky and breathy voice quite effectively. While Frayne and Jones are accomplished musicians, Canfield is the real attraction here. She is a serious talent and belongs in the same league as Martha Davis, Eda Maxym, Hannah Reimann, Mary Deschamps, and the other great torch singers of the new millennium
Area - Radio Caroline CD
Reissue 11,99€ (Label: Project)Area were a band musically that were right where they should have been for their time, circa ‘88. This is their 2nd album, very 4AD sounding in the sense of Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil. You get female vocals over ghostly guitars and scare drum beats, this was definitely for the black clad set. Oddly enough, now we’d say this is very Projekt Records-ish. At the time this stuff came out, Projekt’s domination of the scene was just starting to build into the massive snowball it is now. This is loaded with the sort of melancholia that you get when you write rather deep and introspective songs. This stuff still holds up, which is partially due to the fact that the gloom and doom seems real rather than painted on.
The Arms Of Someone New - Love,
Power & Justice CD 11,99€ (Label: Project)

from Champaign, USA. Formed in 1983, The Arms Of Someone New created
music that was mellowly melodic, somewhere between pop/rock and New
Romantic. This cd is the second Projekt: Archive release of their
material and brings together previously unreleased tracks and demos,
alternative versions and rare compilation tracks from around 1985 to
1987.

OUTThe Arms of Someone New was Mel Eberle and Steve Jones originally from Champaign, USA. Formed in 1983, The Arms Of Someone New created music that was mellowly melodic, somewhere between pop/rock and New Romantic. This CD, part of the in the Projekt:Archive series compiles the groups first three and nowadays very rare vinyls released on the groups on label Office Records: “Susan Sleepwalking” LP (1985), “Burying the Carnival” MLP, 1984” and the “Holy Dance” 7” (1984).
Aroma Di Amore - Onverdeeld 2CD 19,99 euro (OnderStroom Records) Ignored by the masses, loved by the underground, never simple always unique. For many years now they're considered to be the cult group of Flanders & after 5 years of silence around the band, it's time to write another chapter in the big Aroma-book. On their first release in 16 (!) years, the history of the band is being captured in 47 tracks.
The double disc set “Onverdeeld” is an anthology of more than a quarter century of musical output. The two discs contain almost all of the tracks that ever appeared on lp, completed by a few live-tracks and 4 unreleased songs. The booklet of 16 pages immerses you in the smell of love, with pictures by Eric Didden, an extensive biography and the extraordinary lyrics by Elvis Peeters. In 2010 a limited lp will follow with never before released tracks.
Art
Boulevard - 1987 >1985 A Story Backwards CD Digipak 9,99
euro (Label: Spittle)Art Boulevard born in early 1985 in Bergamo. The band immediately stands out for its attractive sound, good looks and existential post-punk and a vision of music that takes you directly to the second half of the '60s: the rock as an art form and not only as an urgent expression of teenage rebelliousness .
This CD contains all their songs from those appearing in the EP "The Favorite Toy" (which got rave reviews in its time but, following the same fate of the others independent italian bands, suffered from debilitating delays and poor distribution) to those present in their two tapes and also their tracks in the compilations "Arezzo Wave" and "Pluto."
Then Art Boulevard, reduced to three elements plus a drum machine, will change completely their identity while entering in the 90s, under the name Orange Party, with new ideas and other sounds... but that's another story.
A Sordid Poppy - The Holy
Sides CD 10,99
euro (Label: Brouillard
Définitif)
In the early 90s, two brothers and few school mates decided to form
«A Sordid Poppy» refering to Siouxsie's
«Poppy Days» and Babel 17 «A
Sordid Waste». Their music is always a bit cold but still
with
some « touching-pop » elements as well as
experimental,
complex and (then) modern elements. The lyrics are nicely
arranged, sometimes surrealistic, sometimes haughty, but
always
terribly decadent ! Their influences are easy to identify, as for
exemple The Cure, Mecano, And Also The Trees, Minimal Compact and
especially Bauhaus. The tracks on this CD are taken from the demo tapes
« Dehiscence » and « Red Cloud Sessions
» + one
unreleased track. Thanks to these tracks, at last, we can discover some
more about this Alsatian band, unrecognized in France, but so familiar
for the elders that have have known the "Great East" and its small
alternative scene.

This carefully crafted 6 track release is a guaranteed dancefloor-burner, providing a truly modern synthesis of the cold uptempo analogue electronics of classic French Minimal Synth, the raw, sardonic heat-seeking swagger of early Italo Disco, and the icy, razor blade guitar and live drum sound of the great Vague Froide bands.

- Celeano Fragments CD 12,99 euro (Label: Infrastition) temp. SOLD
OUT
Babel 17 starts their adventures in college years in 1983, but their first album is released only in 1990 through Lively Art, “Celeano Fragments” is a UFO of french scene, at first it’s fascinating by its variety and its messy look-like. Starting with “Watch” fine mix of touching-pop and EBM, “Celeano Fragments” moves into excellent tracks of icy cold-wave and reknowable by its double leading sing, one inspired by batcave style of Sex Gang Children. The album hit is “Angels of T.V” starting after a short instrumental a sinister cold-wave of extreme coldness. Entirely remastered and with six bonus tracks it’s the time to renew with B17! 21 tracks remastered CD, including six bonus.

euro (Label: Genetic) “Cities of Glass” was the second proper full-time album from BAKTERIELLE INFEKTION, recorded between 2001 and 2005, and released on Genetic Music. Musically right between Roger’s other projects SKANFROM and TELEVISION SET, here with vocals by permanent partner Uwe Marx, and always under big influence of Mr. Mark Verhaeghen and Mr. Dirk Ivens with tracks ranging from minimal electro à la Absolute Body Control (“We don’t have any Dreams”), industrial music à la Dive (“No Worlds without Borders”), to electro à la The Klinik (“Crawling and Falling”). Also, many other hits like “Actors on Stage” and Anna’s favourites “Nothing real”, “Wegen Dir” and “Postage”, maybe because they are most Skanfrom-like...

Blacklist -
Midnight of the Century CD 14,99€ (Wierd
Records) The long awaited debut album from NYC's Blacklist is finally available. Grandiose guitars sustain and reverberate throughout each track, iconicly evoking the The Cult, The Mission and The Chameleons. They've got the benefit of great production quality to really bring out the sound to give it the polish it deserves. With the guitars in the forefront, the bass is superbly thick and mortars it all together for a rock solid rhythm foundation. The lyrics provide a visual and emotive view of a dramatic and violent world of oppression and revolution, striving to reach out and attain enlightenment. Maybe I'm waxing too much there, but the lyrics are that descriptive, filmily romantic.
'Midnight of the Century' includes updated versions of both the previously released singles "Shock In The Hotel Falcon" and "Language Of The Living Dead". The hit of the album seems to be upbeat and star-reaching "Flight of the Demoiselles" by well-established rock sources like SPIN and The Village Voice, but the more brooding and dark cloud-rumbling "Odessa" strikes me better. While 'Midnight' might be a little too bright and not Wierd enough for some tastes, it certainly serves as a gateway for the oldschool gothrock fans into the modern age, and the modern age into the oldschool gothic fake-fog filled dancehalls.
Blacklist - Solidaire CD EP Carboard 7,99 euro (Label: Wierd Records)
In late 2004, the future members of
Blacklist
were disenchanted. Living in the supposed capital of bohemian pleasure,
they watched in disgust as independent music became an orgy of
similarity, lawmakers banned smoking in bars, and the Republican
National Convention came triumphantly to midtown. Fashion set the rules
for the art world and philosophy had become little more than a cynical
slacker's hobby. It was in this atmosphere that Blacklist was born.
Inspired
by groups such as The Comsat Angels, The Manic Street Preachers, Suede,
The Sound, and For Against, Blacklist is simultaneously celebratory and
melancholy, replacing the hysterical protest song of the 20th century
with anthems for a new generation weaned on amusement and starved for
confrontation. In today's world of faith-based violence, global
disjunctures, and volatile identity politics, they create the
soundtrack to an explosive resistance. The snide refusal of nihilism
makes a loud and heavy romantic sound.

Blank Dogs - On Two Sides CD 14,99€
(Label: Sacred Bones
Records)
Sacred Bones presents the CD version of the first Blank Dogs
full-length On Two Sides--vinyl was released (and already oop) earlier
this year via Troubleman Unlimited. The first long-playing release and
the first non-vinyl appearance (save for a very limited run cassette
release of this album via Fuckit Tapes) from bedroom punk's new crowned
prince of home-recorded DIY synth dementia. After a string of highly
coveted and now mostly out of print singles and EP's On Two Sides finds
the band holding attention in the long form. Buried under the layers of
distortion, fuzz, and synth lines are pop hooks that call to mind The
Bats and The Chills as much as Helios Creed or Debris. Psychedelic punk
for fans of the more minimal and electro tendencies of the Komische.

Blank Dogs - The Fields
CD 13,99€
(Label: Woodsist) temp. sold
out
BlankDogs are actually singular: It's the insanely prolific
one-man Brooklyn-based band of Mr. Blank Dog. We don't know too much
about the biography of the guy behind the bedroom new-wave pop/punk and
he's usually covering his face with masks or bedspreads, but that's
fine. The aura of anonymity allows you to focus on the sounds -- and,
really, he might be releasing a ton of things, but there's definitely a
higher jam to crap ratio. It's like Joy Division vocal lines with the
Cure's synth and guitar melodies filtered through ancient submerged
keyboards and eroded recording equipment.
Bodysnatcher - The Ninth Floor CD 9,99
euro
(Label: Manic Depression)BODYSNATCHER is an atypical band, at the junction of styles and times, and unites variousmusical influences with a deep taste for cinema.
Electro sequences will remind of Violator (Depeche Mode), guitar riffs talk about The Cure, the sometimes crooning voice ranges from sensuality to agressivity, on a groovy melodic bassline. A tincture of the 80’s is present in the music, concretised by an original and very successful cover of “Ghost Rider” from Suicide (duet with Chelsea from Norma Loy). But the Ninth Floor is not a “last on line”, past-dwelling album, it imposes its own esthetic vision of music, a subtle proportion of “mid-tempo” Trip-Hop and Electro-Rock-mixed New-Wave, enhanced with jazzy vibes and old movie samples.
Bohèmien - La Parata
del Circo CD EP 7,99
euro (Label:In
The Night Time)
After two year from the first official release,
"Danze pagane", the
Bohemien are back with new
astonishing EP. La parata del Circo
contains four new songs: "La parata del circo", "Anemia (da
qui all'eternità)", "Nell'ora dell'enigma" and "Specchio".
Even with
the typical Bohemien sound these 4 new songs outline a more marked
inclination for a deathrock/horror sound, with a different use of the
keyboards, more relevant in the melodic and the rhythmic part of the
songs. The EP includes also two bonus tracks, "Anemia" English version
and "Anemia", remixed by S*phz (Il Giardino Violetto) with an
elettrogoth/ebm old school sound. La Parata del Circo was released in
occasion of their participation to the Drop Dead Festival in New York
City (28-31 October 2005).

(Label: Manic Depression)The first self-product album was released in May 2006, supported by Fake Record, an independent label founded by Joy Disaster's Nicolas Rohr and friends. This friendly support around the label and the project (including Nico from Joy Disaster, Cyril from Dorcel and JP that was part of the Zorch Factor adventure) gave me the opportunity to build a live show and to know my first live experience with the Camp in 2006, in Paris at Le Klub.

Italian Dark Wave band!
Carmody - A Better Spider
CD 14,99€
(Label: Anna Logue Records)
Carmody were Andrea Lesmo (synthesisers, tapes, bass, guitar) and
Alberto Ramella (vocals) with the some help from Massimiliano Casacci
(guitar - member of Deafear and nowadays in Subsonica and running the
Casasonica Studios) at the later stage of their existence. They came
from Torino, Italy, and were mates of Monuments and Chromagain, also
following a similar musical path with predominant synthesisers and drum
machines (Boss DR-55, Korg KPR-77, Roland TR-909) along with some
sparse guitars. They recorded from 1981 to 1985 and issued three
incredibly rare demo tapes. “A Better Spider”
compiles the best tracks
from those tapes, bringing you some of the best electropop/electrowave
music ever coming out of Italy. CARMODY would have so deserved to reach
a wider audience, especially the later stage tracks have had much
potential to become small hits, and then “Messengers of
Love” is
definitely one most wonderful tracks ever recorded. There is no chance
you shall miss out on this one if you are into stuff like Monuments or
early 80’s electronic wave music in general.
The Cemetary Girlz - Smoke My Brain CD 9,99
euro
(Label: Manic Depression)The Cemetary Girlz are getting more and more recognition as a live band, but here now comes their official debut cd. “Smoke My Brain” is a pure new-wave album in the purest 80s tradition. When listening to their composition I got several big names The Cure, The Sisters Of Mercy, Bauhaus and Virgin Prunes that came into mind. Especially the guitar play is a pure emulation of the 80s new-wave spirit. Little Spigaou is the name of the guitarist and he’s a real genius musician in this type of music. The guitar parts are for sure the main characteristic of this Parisian band. It’s a pure pleasure for all lovers of the 80s guitar-wave. The vocals are less classical as they’ve been treated with a kind of effect on top, creating a dark feeling. The Cemetary Girlz avoid all innovation, but they for sure will bring a lot of good-old memories back to life. Songs like “Sarabanda”, “Chimères” and “Le Masque/Le Visage” are excellent pieces of music. A few songs were sung in French, but the majority of the songs have been sung in English. It’s now all about the question to know if this band can still be successful in the sale of their album!
Central Unit - Central
Unit + Loving Machinery CD 13,99 euro (Label MP Records, 2003)

co-produced their selftitled lp in 1983. Their debut ep is now one of
the most wanted records for minimal synth collectors worldwide. In 2003
MP Records released this cd which gathers all the tracks from
this two
wonderful releases. A great occasion to discover the music of this
great bandl band. 14 wonderful tracks, romantic and glacial melodies.

Clair Obscur - Antigone CD Special Digipak 13,99 euro (Label: Infrastition)
Antigone was composed in 1989 as score to the Sophocles act by the Tour de Babel Company, recorded with many musicians (Strings, winds...) this collection of instrumentals is the more “classical” work of Clair Obscur, proof if necessary that even a “rock” band can dare into reserved territories. The tracks from Dédale were recorded for a broadcast serial “Les aventures mythologiques de Dédale” aired on France Culture in 1994. 30 track CD in DVD sized digipack. Limited edition 500 copies.

Clair Obscur - We Gave A
Party For The Gods And Gods All Came CD Digipak 13,99 euro (Label: Optical)
From most tribal cold wave to chamber music, from industrial music to dance music (unless these two are synonymous), their musical approach eminently atmospheric embraces a surprising variety of styles and gives birth to iconoclast scenic transcriptions.
Among all groups which animated the French cold wave and industrial scene of the 80's, Clair Obscur is certainly one of those which radiated the most outside the boundaries of France. Several of their records have been published by British labels like All the Madmen or Cathexis Recordings or in Germany by Apocalyptic Vision and one of their act of glory is to be part of the compilation 'From torture to conscience' by mythical label N.E.R. alongside with Current 93, In The Nursery or Death In June (1984).
From Killing Joke to The Nits, from the Cirque d'Hiver de Paris (1982) to the Wiener Festwochen (1991), the bands with which they played on the same venues and the places where they performed tell well the richness of this group which is impossible to classify.
Cold Phoenix - Your Eyes
Are My Eyes CD 10,99€ (Airplane/103)Mannequin Mailorder is happy to announce the repress of Cold Phoenix, we are the only and official distibutors/sellers for this great re-release. Cold Phoenix were an italian dark wave / post punk group from Bologna, formed in 1985 by Vittorio Barion (bass), Alessandro Paltretti (guitar, vocals), Alessandro Ruggeri (drums) and Alberto Verri (keyboards). Their story is a simple story of 4 young guys, with a great passion for our beloved dark tunes, in fact all the tracks were composed at the age of 19, just two years later, after the release of their only 12'' EP 'Your Eyes Are My Eyes', few live acts and even video appareances on Rai Television, all was finished.
The CD reissue comes in a stunning 6 panel digipak with full lyrics and unpublished pictures of the band, embellished by 2 fantastic bonus tracks, 'Stop Just A Moment' and 'The Greatness Of Love', in 500 limited copies.

atmospheres. COMPLOT have changed with a deliberate desire to shatter an image. Even the notion of them being an elitist band is a misinterpretation for such an open group. In fact the rôle of COMPLOT is not to create a rigid world but to open up and accept the confrontation of différent worlds, generating new emotions. The human structure of the group fluctuates and there can be anything from two to ten peoples on stage at any one time. The only real constant is the poetry and the emotion which is given out at each concert, a certain idea of freedom. In 2006, Jean Beaucé asked them to compose the soundtrack of a theatre show called « ICEMAN tout ce que je veux, c’est de vous rendre heureux ». The songs they created on this occasion are now part of their new repertoire and is featured on this album.

An 80's classic ready to be re-discovered and loved! Plus: a selection of bonus tracks old and new, some from a very recent date that show you how CA sound in 2009.
The Cultural Decay - Eight Ways
to Start a Day CD
17,99€
(Label: Sacred Bones
Records) Cultural Decay existed from 1980-1982. The band’s collective discography is comprised of a highly sought after 7" single and two song 12" EP. The latter was produced and features additional accompaniment by future Revolting Cocks co-founder Luc Van Acker. The band played a total of 15 gigs in local clubs—with like minded Belgian acts such as Struggler, De Brassers, and Siglo XX—before disbanding.
Eight Ways To Start a Day is the first official release in close to three decades from this fabled Belgian coldwave band. Their sound, a collision of ethereal one-note synth lines and dark post-punk aggression, recalls the controlled ferocity of Crisis and The Southern Deathcult at their best. The recordings on these releases comprise the band’s entire recorded output and both the LP and CD include an extensive booklet including photos, liner notes and a comprehensive band history from member Joseph V.
The CD boasts those three plus an additional five tracks culled from previously unheard recordings and demos including “Womb,” “Sink or Swim,” “Out of Balance,” “Losing Height,” and a live version of “End of the Corridor.”
Tracklisting:
Brave New World
End of the Corridor
Business Business / Fragile Object
Song of Joy

Dark Tales - Living Out CD Digipak 9,99 euro (Label: Spittle)
Pavia, Northern Italy, 1981.
— From the
ashes of Doctor Mabuse, protagonists of incendiary concerts of which no
trace remains, came Dark Tales. Authors of three demotapes, they also
appeared on numerous compilations of the period, including the now
beyond rare “First Relation.” Distorted vocals,
futuristic
sounding keyboards and clean sounding guitars. All inserted in a new
wave atmosphere made less sinister by a tight rhythm section always at
the forefront, but never obsessive. Then in 1985, the end, due to
exhaustion, lack of funding, and stupidity of those who were there, but
refused to understand.
Das Wesen - Embracing All,

The passing away of Boudewijn van der Wagt in 1999 was a heavy shock to his friends and acquaintances. This cd is dedicated to the remembrance of this flamboyant and inspiring person.

Family CD 11,99 euro (Label: Das Drehmoment)
With "Fun For The Whole Family",
Datafreq (the canadian Dave Rout, also ex member of Rational Youth)

album.
Highlights of the album are for sure "Just Like 1981", "I Desire" the
Kraftwerk-like "Arcade Junkie" and the more quieter "Silhouette
City".Highly recommended!

Date at Midnight were created in February 2007
thanks to
the will and passion of Daniele (voice, ex Interior Deus), Pasquale
(bass, ex Echoes of Silence), Francesco (guitar) and Danilo (drums, ex
Dirty Fake). Animated by a true spirit for Gothic music in its various
facets (Christian Death and Bauhaus, just to have a pair of
coordinates), they composed enough songs to start to play live in the
Italian Gothic scene. In December 2007, the band joined the recording
studio to give birth to their first EP, included in the catalog of in
the Night Time as the 10th release.

Against - December CD 9,99€
(Label: Words On Music)
In
1988 For Against recorded the distinguished December album for
Independent Project Records. December is a fan favorite and is
unparalleled in the annals of post-punk for its unique blend of
aggressive, atmospheric, melodic pop songs. The album is also now
largely considered by critics to be a forerunner of the dream pop scene
popularized in England just a few years later. Words On Music's
re-release of December has been remastered, includes two ultra-rare For
Against videos, and is issued in a new six-panel digipak design from
Bruce Licher.

Against - Echelons CD 9,99€
(Label: Words On Music)
Available for the first time on CD!
Echelons is the debut album by Nebraska's For Against, first released
in 1987. The album blends Factory Records atmospherics with the
aggressive jangle of early R.E.M., juxtaposed against the earnest and
isolated voice of Jeffrey Runnings. These elements conjoin to set the
definitive image of the depth, vastness, and loneliness of America's
sparse heartland. One of the definitive American post-punk albums,
Echelons was celebrated with a Grammy nomination for its remarkable
cover design by Bruce Licher (a shaft of wheat accompanied each record
sleeve in its initial 1,000 copy letter press run). This re-release is
remastered with a six-panel digipak design by Bruce Licher.

Against - In The Marshes CD 9,99€
(Label: Words On Music)
In The Marshes is Words On Music's third in a series of album reissues by Lincoln, Nebraska's post-punk pioneers For Against. The record represents the darkest and most experimental period in For Against's nearly 25-year history. Primarily recorded on 4-track in 1986 during a break from the recording sessions of their debut album Echelons, six songs were eventually culled together to comprise the EP later released by Independent Project Records in 1990 for their 10" Archive series. Two exclusive bonus tracks are added to this CD reissue. In The Marshes is reissued in a six-panel digipak design by two-time Grammy nominee Bruce Licher (Stereolab, Camper Van Beethoven).

Against - Shade Side Sunny Side CD 9,99€
(Label: Words On Music)
Shade Side Sunny Side is For Against's seventh full-length record and first studio album since 2002. As the Lincoln, Nebraska trio approaches their 25th anniversary on the independent music scene, For Against has reemerged with an exclamation point: Shade Side Sunny Side is a landmark record for the band, boasting For Against's darkest (and loudest) material to date. The new album also marks the notable return of original For Against guitarist Harry Dingman III, who formed For Against with vocalist and bassist Jeffrey Runnings back in 1984. Dingman left the band after 1988's seminal dream pop record, December.

Masses CD 13,99
euro (Label: Brouillard
Définitif)3 years already after the release of "Angoisses Et Divertissement", Brouillard Définitif is happy to present you, in collaboration with Guerre Froide’s label Flashbacks Futurs, their 2nd album "Abrutir Les Masses" is definitely orientated into the future, still dark but featured of many more rich sounds. Between the tracks "Hypnose" and "Canal Historique", the band attracts us in their personal universe. Well approched lyrics, mindblowing music, attractive refrains, inspired by the society in derivation such as the track "Des Illusions" shows it. Even "Identité Variable" or also "Le Fil" does explains that. Sometimes the mood is more close-friend as on "L'Expérience", a kind of strange variation of a certain "Espérance". We found on this opus somemany tracks already played live, or unreleased till now such as "Sauvage" and "Abrutir", or which are present on the mCD released some months ago with the tracks "Nom" and "Entre Nous", here provided on the new album with a different mixing. Guerre Froide pulls us toward to some new unexpected musical horizons, with various inspirations. 10 tracks showing us that the band still have many things to tell us ;)
Guerre Froide - Angoisses

With the first release of our new label, Guerre Froide comes
back with a new line-up. It is constituted with Yves Royer and Fabrice
Fruchart as the
origins, but also has a newly-welcomed bass player : Samuel Druon. The
CD is
essentially composed of new tracks which have been freshly recorded and
mastered between December 2006 and March 2007. The album is
melancholic, gentle and marvelous. It is a tribute to great writers
from past centuries, such as Saint Exupéry, with a track
called "Saint Ex"
and Arthur Rimbaud with "L'éternité".
It also includes cover songs for older tracks such as "A corps perdus"
by Pour L'Exemple, the legendary "Demain Berlin",
and "Romance" which is a rendition of "La Chanson d'Ian",
a track taken from their demo released in 1980. Limited

After some playing, the line up is reduced from three members to just two, adding instead a drum machine. What is created is their first and only demo tape: Danse Macabre. Synthesizing countless disparate musical influences from first wave British industrial music to house, disco, and the largely unknown cold wave (aka 'La Vague Froide') tradition in Northern Europe, the 9 killer trax on Dust fly by, straight out of the frozen hot, lonely cold plains of vocalist Samuel Kklovenhoof's native central Texas. Limbo - Early Works 2CD Digipak 14,99€ (Label: Spittle)
LIMBO was an influential eclectic
music
project created in January 1984 by the Tuscan artist Gianluca Becuzzi -
still one of the most important personalities on the Italian electronic
/ electro-acoustic and experimental scenes.
Since 1984 LIMBO has released twelve LPs, plus two mini albums, one
box-set and one tape. They also appeared on various compilations and
performed live many times in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Over the years, LIMBO frequently changed record labels, line-ups and
musical styles, but always maintained strong dark and electronic
elements. In September 2006 the re-born Spittle Records (the Tuscan

Little Nemo
- Vol. 1 1987-1989 2CD Digipak 19,99€ (Label: Infrastition)Little Nemo was born in 1983 as the result of the musical encounter between Olivier Champeau and Vincent Gallo in the Paris area. The name stems from Windsor McCay's comic strip, dating back to the early 20th century and telling the oniric adventures of a little boy during his sleep. That sets the tone for the many arty references in the group's history. The duet asserts this psychedelic ascent while quoting Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd as their influence. Their music mixing keyboards (mainly Olivier), a drum machine and guitar/bass by Vincent is influenced by the new wave of Cure and Joy Division, as well as by the French groups Taxi Girl and Marquis de Sade.
This 2CD set is presented in a 3 panels digisleeve with 6 page poster-booklet.
This first volume offers you to get this complete first period with for the first time on CD the “Past and future” tape.

Minox - Lazare CD Digipak

Concerned with melody, synth textures, moody cinematic and theatrical ambience (Minox also composed for the theater), and an avant-garde tendency to mix genres, Minox is difficult to categorize. 'Lazare' includes both solo piano pieces ("Theme for Two") and complex compositions ("Suite Maniacal"), and should appeal to fans of `80s synth bands as well as those of minimal yet artfully balanced soundscapes.

Monuments - XXVII CD 14,99€ (Label: Anna Logue Records)
In 1984, the MONUMENTS, consisting of Andrea Costa
and Mauro Tavella from Torino, Italy, released
their only official record, a mini LP called “Age”
comprising six incredibly fantastic electropop tracks. Anna ever
thought of this mini LP as being
the best electropop record ever coming out of Italy. Unfortunately, the
duo didn’t make it any further under the name of MONUMENTS,
though even to this very day they follow their careers as composers,
studio owners and explorers of electronic music. Anyway, the MONUMENTS
were already formed in 1981 and a couple of demos were recorded which
never saw the light of day, but were only given to a few friends. Their
nature is a bit more rough and never drift towards the more commercial
Italo synth pop. So what you get on this CD is indeed an essential
retrospective compilation album of one of Italy’s pioneering
underground electronic music acts. And while Andrea and Mauro
want to close this chapter with this release, a project entitled
MONUMENTS II is maybe on its way … The limited
pressing of 500 copies includes 11
previously unreleased tracks, the remastered version of their rare 1984
six track mini LP “Age” and a12 pages booklet with
liner notes.

The band, which was born first as a duo at the end of the 70’s in Florence’s undeground culture, soon stands out for its Kraftwerk and new wave icons’ synth, which made their style a unique 80’s cultural dream’s specimen, together with newromantic and post punk tought of bands like Joy Division, Ultravox and Human League. In 1980, the band got off to an electronic start with the single "Information of death", and later, through several line up changes, it achieves to synthetize a mix of obsessive electro sounds, obscure athmospheres and quite original pop melodies which take shapes in later works like "Tapes of darkness" (1981), "Obsession" (1981), "My blues is you" (1983), "Dark Age" (1984); in 1985 "Rituals" sanctioned Neon as the best italian new wave band of that year. Excellent studio productions and intense live activities has brought Neon to be one of the few incons belonging to alternative 80’s italian music scene.
This compilation contains such hilights as Dark Age, Isolation, Information of Death, Red Light, My Blues is You and many more. Last but not least there’s also original video for Isolation on this CD!!! The only official videoclip of Neon! This video was filmed and directed by Carlo Isola on 16 mm film.

Neon - Rituals Expanded CD Digipak 9,99 euro (Label: Spittle) back in

NEON are undoubtedly one of the
most influential and enduring bands of the Italian New Wave.
From
the beginning, the band's music was perfectly aligned with continental
trends-integrating the attitude of early post-punk with certain types
of electronic music that had timidly begun popping up on the club
circuit, and an aesthetic that was a cross between late romanticism and
decadentism.
After a string of 12"s (five altogether) and a 7",
the band finally released their first LP, Rituals in 1985 for
KinderGarten (also known for Pankow's first 12").
This crucial
album, which unquestionably represented the band's creative peak, has
now been re-released by Spittle not merely for the sake of the album
itself, but also as part of a wider campaign to document the Italian
New Wave scene.
The 8 tracks that make up this digitally
remastered reissue (with 3 extra 12" versions) represent one of the
most original possible journeys into the Italian underground.
Obsessively
rhythmic, like a pagan ritual, with the vagueness and asperity of
primordial rock and roll and an inkling of late seventies / early
eighties electronica!

Not Moving CD Digipak 9,99
euro (Label: Spittle)In 1985, after having released two 7”s for Electric Eye, Not Moving made their home at the brand-new Tuscan label, Spittle Records, for whom they soon recorded the 12” Black and Wild. The sound was a personal and mature fusion of X and Gun Club (Goin’ Down), goth/blues (Eternal Door), Stones-style blues (“I Just Wanna Make Love To You”) and neo garage (Crawling). The following year their first LP, Sinnerman, was released, also on Spittle. The 15 tracks on the album retraced the roads that that led to the creation of the band’s unique sound: rock ‘n’roll, blues, beat, punk, psych, and punkabilly and the album (despite its being released with an unauthorized sound mix) was critically acclaimed and well-liked by the public. Now these two albums (with Sinnerman featuring the original authorized mix) are available together and for the first time ever on CD! The “mini-LP” artwork also features what should have been the original Sinnerman album sleeve and contains a 12-page booklet including a bio of the band.

Rinf - Chaosjugend
Strasse CD Digipak 9,99 euro (Label: Spittle)
An
anomaly of sorts, Rinf were truly a different kind of band. Stylish
without even trying. An odd mix of English and German that, however,
earned them the respect of the most sensitive fans and critics. What
could have become of their anarchic funk? Rinfs music, however, was
basically pop, heavily researched pop, but pop nonetheless. Simple
songwriting asphyxiated by the urgency of scratchy jazz, with robotic
choruses. Like smashing your head against the wall until it bleeds, but
without unbuttoning your coat or taking off your tie. Somewhere between
innate nihilism and collected pose. In this reissue we find their first
1983 EP, a track originally featured on a 7" single inserted in the
fanzine "FREE" and various previously unreleased tracks, real
memorabilia of the era.

Rise And Fall Of A Decade
- Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow CD 10,99€ (Intuition Records)"Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" is a retrospective compilation covering the years 1987 to 2007 in the musical history of one of the most important French Alternative / Wave bands of the 90's ! From its very beginning in 1987 ( with "Galdhopiggen Glittertind" which became the first song of the band ) through their four successful albums ( "Rise And Fall Of A Decade", "Noisy But Empty", "You Or Sidney" and "Forgot The 20th Century" ) and rare singles ( "An Evening With Bernard", "Mistake" with interesting covers of S. Gainsbourg and The Pixies ) to the present time ( "Don't Save The Museum" recorded in 2006 ). Atmospheric keyboards, acoustic or distorted guitar, expressive male and heavenly female vocals and excellent lyrics. Their extraordinary songs are full of beauty and melancholy. RISE AND FALL OF A DECADE is a synonym for extraordinary compositions, excellent lyrics and timeless good music. They were broadcasted on TV and radio stations in France and in Germany they were mostly famous among the Gothic scene due to their romantic and melancholic songs. This imaginative and diverse album is recommendable for everyone with an interest in heavenly voices/ethereal/classical/dreampop. "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" will certainly not disappoint you.
Ruth -
Polaroïd/Roman/Photo CD 13,99 euro (Label: Infrastition)
Another
excellent reissue of the work of French experimental /pop musician
Thierry Müller (who we know from the reissues of his pre-Ruth
albums under the Ilitch moniker). Fast becoming a unanimous Minimal
Wave genre favorite album, Ruth's "Polaroid / Roman / Photo" was
originally released in 1985. Ruth is like the avant garde stepsister of
Kraftwerk or Gary Numan, in the form of a ten piece band with horns,
violin and spoken female vocals. It's very appropriate that a reissue
like this should come along when the '80s electro / art punk revival. The CD also throws in some
bonus tracks, with 16-pages color-booklet.

Sad Lovers &
Giants - Epic Garden Music CD Reissue 11,99
euro (Label: Cherry Red)Sad Lovers and Giants originally formed in 1981 and produced ‘classy alternative pop music’, a psychedelic post punk sound. The guitars chimed above atmospheric keyboards held together by a rock solid rhythm section underpinning very accessible song writing and the strong haunting voice of singer Garce. Think Chameleons, early Cure and latterly bands like Interpol. After their initial split in 1984 interest in the band grew at home and abroad prompting them into reforming in the late 80’s and producing several more great albums but ‘Epic Garden Music’ is the starting point.
Sad Lovers &
Giants - Feeding The Flame CD Reissue 11,99
euro (Label: Cherry Red)Sad Lovers and Giants first full album, a brilliant atmospheric post punk album, elements of Joy Division and The Chameleons and more tellingly of bands that followed. Recorded in 1983 Feeding the Flame showcases the original line up at their very best. Just completed successful European dates more in the pipeline. Not available on CD since 1988 and includes four bonus tracks that were not on the original vinyl. Memorabilia and Sleeve notes contributions from the original band members.
Sad Lovers &
Giants - The Mirror Test CD Reissue 11,99
euro (Label: Cherry Red)Sad Lovers and Giants took a break after the Feeding The Flame album, interest in the band continued to grow and they reformed with a new line up and a new set of songs. The Mirror Test is a brilliant atmospheric post punk album, elements of Joy Division and The Chameleons and more tellingly of bands that followed. Originally released in 1988 - The Mirror Test marked the return of Sad Lovers And Giants, after a couple of years away from the scene with a new line up and a stronger sound.
Scattered Order - Prat Culture
Plus CD ltd ed 400 copies 14,99€
(Label: Klanggalerie) A fantastic album originally released in 1982 on Australia's M Squared-label. Founded in 1979, Scattered Order released three records in the early Eighties on M Squared, plus a few compilation tracks on various samplers. For this CD edition, the band have remastered the whole album and the Screaming Tree EP. As a bonus, there´s some unheard stuff at the end of the CD as well! Soundwise Scattered Order fit in somewhere between Industrial and Post-Punk, think of early Cabaret Voltaire, Hula, Tuxedomoon, Faust and you get the idea. A cult item for the first time ever on CD!
Seconde Chambre -
Victoires Prochaines 2CD 14,99
euro (Label: Brouillard
Définitif)
You've wated a long time, and it's finally here! We keep our promises,
so this Seconde Chambre release that you waited a long time for, has
arrived now! Not really attentionned of their 80s period, it is now
revived and revamped with their come back with this complete wedding
production. Seconde Chambre like the Thugs, an other North Western
band, has always maintained an unclassifiable genre, a provoctiave
immesurably hot, unliked from the cold wave scene from that era. In
fact, this band has a unique exciting style. We can correlate sounds
ranging from glam-rock to post-punk and psychadelic-rock to
garage-rock, but with an exlusive (*hungover) voice that will give the
band an original rough aspect. After all, the style is pleasant to
some. This will give birth to their both LPs that genuinely can see the
light. We followed several shows and raves until their split was more
or less starting to be announced. A long journey, an enduring story,
retraced on this double album, fully
remastered, including the chronological LPS "Lord Brain" and
"Brisé", and "An Expensive Party". All of that incorporating
numerous unreleased and live tracks that cover all the best and more
astonishing songs from all the rest! Limited edition of 500 copies.

Section 25 - Always Now CD 11,99€
(Label: LTM) SOLD OUTThe cult spacey 1981 debut album, originally released as Fact 45, produced by Martin Hannett at Pink Floyd's Britannia Row studio. This remastered CD includes 9 bonus tracks, including all tracks from the Girls Don't Count and Haunted singles, as well as rare compilation tracks and the LP outtake Human Puppets.
Section 25 - Dirty Disco (The
Best Of 1978-2008) CD 11,99€
(Label: LTM) Dirty Disco celebrates 30 years of Section 25, and features tracks from all line-ups and albums, as well as the singles Knew Noise, Dirty Disco, Haunted, Beating Heart, Looking From A Hilltop, Crazy Wisdom and Bad News Week, plus a new lounge version of Knew Noise. The booklet contains archive images and a detailed band chronology.
Formed in Blackpool, the band were initially mentored by Joy Division, and went on to record four albums with Factory Records between 1980 and 1986. The first of these, Always Now, combined harsh post-punk with spacey psychedelia, and was produced by Martin Hannett. The third, From The Hip, produced in 1984 by Bernard Sumner of New Order, explored techno and electronica, and spawned the oft-sampled club hit Looking From A Hilltop. After disbanding in the late 1980s, Section 25 recently regrouped, releasing acclaimed new album Part-Primitiv in 2007 on LTM, and playing a string of powerful live shows across Europe.
Section 25 - From The Hip CD 11,99€
(Label: LTM) New deluxe digital remaster of classic 1984 vintage electronica produced by Bernard Sumner of New Order, including both 12" remixes of the durable US club hit Looking From a Hilltop (FAC 108), together with previously unreleased 12" mixes of Beating Heart and Back to Wonder (FAC 68). Also features two mixes of Dirty Disco II. 74 minutes, 15 tracks. Original Peter Saville artwork.
Section 25 - Live In America And
Europe 1982 CD 11,99€
(Label: LTM) Digitally remastered from the tapes originally intended for album release on Factory US in 1982. Cherry-picked 72 minute set. Connoisseurs will note that God's Playground, Floating and You Leave Me No Choice are all previously unheard composition, and that the take of Haunted is a high-velocity jam featuring members of label mates Crispy Ambulance. Indeed Live In America & Europe 1982 is a set every bit as fascinating as the Crispies Fin swansong, and was recorded by the same sound engineer, Jon Hurst. Full sleevenotes in booklet.
"Rolling drums, mantra-like drones and driving sequencers achieve a compelling atmosphere." (Record Collector, 11/1998)
Section 25 - Love And Hate (In
The English Countryside) CD 11,99€
(Label: LTM) Extended 72 minute digital remaster comprising all of the long lost FACT 160 album together with many bonus tracks, including a Bernard Sumner remix of Bad News Week (FAC 157), and Crazy Wisdom and The Guitar Waltz from the FBN 45 maxi. Also featured are four instrumental versions, and the previously unheard song Just To Be With You. Full sleevenotes, artwork remodelled by Julien Potter.
"The mood that produced titles like Shit Creek-No Paddle meant gung-ho presence. Harder staccato edges and fleshier arrangements helped escape the New Order shadow" (Q Magazine, 8/1999); "A superlative collection of Dalek folk songs and abrasive proto-techno... surprisingly prescient and potent back catalogue." (Uncut Magazine, 8/2000)
Section 25 - The Key Of Dreams CD

Sonnenbrandt - Gestern CD 14,99 euro (Label: Anna Logue Records)
'Gestern' is a co-production
between the 3 labels Anna Logue Records, Hertzschrittmacher
(KernKrach) and NLW, joining forces to help SONNENBRANDT finding their
way onto the road to
success, just because there is no other
contemporary act that deserves a wider audience than they do!
SONNENBRANDT hails from Hamburg, Germany, was founded in 2003, and
consists of Stefan Bornhorst (THE SILICON SCIENTIST, Dreams Encoded,
The Convent – synthesisers, programming, vocoder), Jojo
Brandt (Voll
Wirksam, Liquid Dreams, The Convent – synthesisers,
programming,
guitars, lyrics, vocals) and his wife Sonja ‘Sonne’
Brandt (lyrics,
vocals). They perform the perfect mixture of early 80’s
Electropop and
Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW) – or “Elektronische
Volksmusik” (electronic
folk music) as they cutely describe it themselves - paired with German
lyrics being entertaining in a funny way, and also as cross as two
sticks. The tunes are very catchy, melodic though with some darker
melancholic undertones. Also worth mentioning
is a slight participation of Alain Seghir from MARTIN DUPONT as well as
the guys from THE MARY ONETTES in “Rotes Telefon”.
It includes also a cover version of
LIO’s “Amoureux solitaires”!!!

and
most of all David Sylvian’s band, Japan. They recorded their
first
album, "Lacrimae Christi", during September 1984 and CreepRecords

Sprung Aus
Den Wolken - Dub & Die plus CD 14,99
euro (Label: Klanggalerie)
Originally released in 1981 as an untitled mini album on Zick Zack, "Dub & Die" completes our re-issue programme of the band's earliest works. Recorded at SADW's Cassettencombinat studio in Berlin, the original 8 tracks represent the first release by this German Avantgarde/Industrial group that was once a member of the "Geniale Dilettanten" movement. Again, comparison with early Einstürzende Neubauten is permitted, although Sprung were always more structured and song orientated than their friends. This CD edition expands the original release with a set of bonus tracks.
CD in a limited edition of 500 copies.
State Of Art
- Dancefloor Statements 1981-1982 CD Digipak 9,99
euro (Label: Spittle)While in Manchester A Certain Ratio approach the funk perhaps to unstuck off the reputation of new Joy Division, and in London Spandau Ballet, loads of percussion and wind instruments, went to number 1 of the charts, in Milan State Of Art were operating in the same area, meticulous interpreters of an era where the mutations were firm and fast. State Of Art attempted a sound that combined the sensitivity pop of ABC and Spandau Ballet to tribal underground of Liquid Liquid and Talking Heads, the energy of Funkapolitan and Pig
Bag to the new wave of Manicured Noise and Pop Group. This CD contains all the studio recordings and some live tracks that testify their sound and desire to experiment that marked all live performances of the band.
Stephan Eicher - Spielt Noise Boys CD 14,99
euro (Label: Born Bad)The french label BORN BAD RECORDS has now re-issued the absolute(!) “Minimal-Synth” classic. Strangely enough the label claims this to be an “LP”, though it runs of 45rpm, also selling it at the same rate as their full-length LPs. Then again, no reason to complain, since you get more than enough value for money. In contrast to the legendary 7″ on swiss label OFF COURSE with 5 songs on it, this re-release contains all 7 songs from the original cassette-recordings from 1980. And most of all, what you get is fully capturing EVERYTHING that ever was and is good and great about the so-called Minimal-Synth genre. It never got any better than this. So with getting just this one record, you will experience as much knowlegde about this style of music, as any stupid nerd can do by collecting 1000′s of minimal-synth records. This brilliant record sums it all up! (And most probably Stephan Eicher didn’t even know that he invented a whole new genre, nor may he give a shit about it…)

Störung - This Is Future LP+CD 21,99 euro (Label: Clogsontronics)
Störung was brought to life in 1981 by
two young
individuals from Europe. Eugenius and Arian Brunwin gifted the eighties
their unique style of experimental minimal wave. First released in 1982
as SG002, Clogsontronics has re-released the Störung album
'This Is
Future'. The original mastertape still in perfect condition has been
used for this re-release. Carefully some minor corrections were applied
to make it sound like it should have compared to the original pressing.
Clogsontronics presents this product in a new concept: a release both
on vinyl and CD in one package. The buyer gets the art and analog
feeling of the vinyl as well as the convenience and technical quality
of the CD. For best results the vinyl was cut using the DMM
cutting process and pressed on 180 grams vinyl. Also included in the
package are 2 stickers similar to the ones the band used for promotion
back in the old days. The release is limited to 700 hand number stamped
copies (matched numbers for both vinyl and CD) with lyrics and credits
on the inner sleeve.

Clogsontronics)
Störung released this CD on

also
contains two previously unreleased tracks recorded live in 1983. These
tracks reflect Störung's interpretation of the Cold War era:

System 56 -
Retrospective: 1982-84 CDr 14,99
euro (Label: Detour
Records) Long ago, and far away, in a decade known as the 80s, there once was a band from Cleveland called System 56. Most people in the northeast Ohio area would remember us from the generous amount of local airplay that they received for songs like "Metro Metro”, “You’re Only Dreaming”, “Life On a Cool Curve” and “A Man Needs a Motor”. In all, they released three singles and a 12” EP, over the course of about three years.
Now it’s about 20 years later, and they finally managed to get most of their original songs remastered onto one piece of plastic, entitled RETROSPECTIVE: 1982-84. Those who were around with them for the first time will hear all of the familiar radio favorites, along with three previously unreleased tracks, that have been sitting “in the can” lo these many years. These new tracks were all regular staples that they included in their live shows, feature the 1984 version of the band, and were recorded during the same studio sessions that produced our final single “A Man Needs a Motor”.

Second full-lenght album for this
Greek band. Having existed since 1994, Tilbury on Cloves never seemed
to be a part of the Athens underground, as basically the latter does
not even exist. Occassionally, Sigur Rós, Metrotone and
Piano
Magic, in addition to classic darkwavers such as Eyeless in Gaza and
Chameleons UK (whom they have, in fact, played a concert with) have
been mentioned in the same breath as Tilbury On Cloves. And indeed, the
Tilbury sound is a mixture of 80s darkwave / electronica, and
modern-day ethereal pop. Special digipak, limited edition.
TV21 - Snakes And
Ladders, Almost Complete: 1980-82 CD 11,99

Having recorded a couple of acclaimed singles on their own Powbeat label, they signed to the Deram label also home at the time to Mo-Dettes. The band recorded a string of singles including the near-hit, Snakes & Ladders as well as appearing on the Old Grey Whistle Test and supporting the Rolling Stones in 1982. Their album, A Thin Red Line, is a must for any fan of Orange Juice, Scars or even The Jam, whom TV21 supported. TV21 reunited a couple of years ago for several shows and a new album, Forever 22. The band are fully supporting this compilation.

Marcel Kanche, Phil Gaz and Bruno Tollard create Un Département in 1980. They are quickly adopted by the indie scene, the one of squats and Belleville's loft. They meet and play with Rita Mitsouko, Père Ubu, Fred Frith, getting the sympathetic of the experimental and free scene. Journalists, critics and musicians are their main audience. Un Département, very underground combo counts five releases as records or tapes, then sent with Marcel Kanche drawings. Je serai Clément en tant que Dictateur, Aimer l'Eunuque avant de Glauquer, Le Album, are significant titles. After Bruno Tollard left the sophisticated punk duet with suits and ties takes the road to try its concept further to the west: New York. Their electro-acoustic improvisations on Marcel's poems or Antonin Artaud's texts gets them astonishment and sometimes non understanding. They'll play at the mythic CBGB's, as opening for Lounge Lizards, The Cure, jamming with Stray Cats drummer, and stealing for a night the stardom to Alan Vega. They'll share in the New York night with him a "moule-frite" in a sepulchral silence...
Units - History of The Units CD Digipak 11,99 euro (Label: Community Library) temp. SOLD
OUT
The end of the 1970’s saw Units and their compatriots (Pink Section, Voice Farm, Tuxedomoon, and Screamers) storming punk clubs like the Mabuhay with a new electronic punk sound. Units were a cornerstone of this unofficial movement, later called “synth punk” and which would come to define a greater west coast DIY culture combining new synthetic sounds, ranging from Nervous Gender, Screamers and Monitor, to The Blackouts. Units’ tight keyboard riffing, raw electronic texture, monotone delivery, raging synth arpeggios and growling Moog basslines practically define synthpunk’s futuristic, alienated disposition. Thematically, Units’ music explored and exploded the very nature of “unit-like” conformity- perhaps using their synth blasts to tear away the very fabric of it. This compilation includes “High Pressure Days,” a testament to the loneliness and urgency of the times, and one of synthpunk’s greatest anthems.
This anthology, the results of over three years of negotiation, selection, and remastering.

(Electric

momentum, this compilation reflects the impact of a 'post-Joy Division'
British new wave on the genre. Divided into two sections, the softer
"blue section" and the more electric "red section", this compilation
presents some of the most eclectic groups of the period (DIE FORM,
RINF), as well as more sophisticated bands like FRIGIDAIRE TANGO and
JEUNESSE D'IVOIRE. It also marked the baptism of two bands (LITFIBA and
DIAFRAMMA) that would become synonymous with he future of Italian rock'
for the next ten years. Now digitally re-mastered and available for the

(Label: Angular)Angular Records are proud to announce the forthcoming release of 'Cold Waves and Minimal Electronics Vol.1' - a new 17 track compilation put together by New York's Wierd Records founder Pieter Schoolwerth and Angular's Joe Daniel. Wierd Records founder Pieter Schoolwerth has been fostering an archive of cold wave and minimal wave for almost thirty years. His unrivalled collection gave birth to the “radically confusing and glamorously uncomfortable” club night and now this compilation. Pieter has been waiting almost three decades for the rest of the world to be turned on to what he views as “a true movement of humanistic resistance against the vacuous contemporary excesses of modern laptop pop”. Containing songs that have only been available up to now on ultra rare 7”s, lost radio sessions and cassette tapes , as well as never before seen photos and extensive sleeve notes about the genre.
‘Cold Waves and Minimal Electronics Vol.1’ is finally here to teach us all a thing or two about the history of electronic music the world over.

Genotypes CD 14,99
euro (Label: Genetic)
When we had the original idea for this compilation some
time in 2007, it was supposed to come out in the year of our 10th
anniversary. But it wouldn't have been us if the project hadn't taken
longer than expected! ;-) Our label was born in 1998 and the first
release saw the light of day in 1999. So it is our 11th (or 12th?)
anniversary this year. But what's so special about the 10th anyway? So
who cares, it's 2010 and here is GENOTYPES!
Many of the tracks on this compilation are with us for more than 20
years and they have been giving us goose bumps ever since! So it was
more than time to pay tribute to some classics. We are very happy to
preserve these real gems of early synth and wave music and present most
of them for the first time with the approval of the artists after their
original release. It is lovely to have this little extract of the
soundtrack of our lives. "Genotypes" is a bit of a present to ourselves
and we hope you'll enjoy it too!
genetic sincerely thanks all participating artists for their
enthusiasm, endless patience and great support! Thank you for your
music we are all enjoying so much and thank you for being so nice!
With Cinema 90, Hysterica Passio, Alive She Died and many others!!

Various - Gerda 85 CD+DVD 14,99 euro (Label: Aredje)
SOLD OUTIt's the story of a young girl in a state of rupture, somewhere in the countryside, in a kingdom. It's summer. She has to study for her exams. Gerda finds herself back at her uncle and aunt's house. She has not seen them for years, since her mother died.
It's 1985. There is a tape in the cassette deck, a flanger on the bass, and the rhythm box is heavy with reverb. It's a crisis. Gerda has to make some choices, choices which must lead her to see other horizons. Around her, convulsions: a time is ending.

The long awaited official double cd

this seminal and groundbreaking 1984 compilation of Italian

HC/punk side and the art/wave side of the Italian underground music
scene of the mid-eighties. Featuring lost gems from Italian bands like
Cani, Putrid Fever, Juggernaut, Grey Shadow, NoiseNoiseNoise, Funny
Fashion and Mind. An essential piece of Italian music history and a

Various - Milano New Wave
CD Digipak 9,99 euro (Label: Spittle)
Following an idea of Italian disco
guru Fred
Ventura to publish some recordings that have remained in the vaults for
more than 25 years, and thanks to the skilful “mastering
touch” of Giovanni Versari, we have fi nally realized what
seemed
like a dream: a representative and intense snapshot of the Milanese new
wave scene of the early eighties, 20 tracks that recount the salient
steps of the brief but intense career of four Milanese bands
—
from the post-punk of Other Side, to the oblique funk of State Of Art,
to the evident Kraftwerk infl uences of La Maison, to the electro
pop-wave of Jeunesse d’Ivoire — four bands that
illustrate
the mood of an underground scene that burned out rapidly, mostly due to
the indifference of the media and recording industry during those years.
Various - The Minimal Wave Tapes Volume One CD 15,99 euro (Label: Stones Throw Records, Minimal Wave)Minimal Wave: both a genre of underground DIY electronic music from North America and Europe in the late 1970s and 80s, and the name of the label devoted to unearthing these recordings. The Minimal Wave Tapes is the first official anthology (on CD, LP and digital) of Minimal Wave music from this label. Most of the songs were originally released on limited edition cassettes or vinyl by the artists themselves, and only a handful of people knew about them. They’ve been remastered from their analog source tapes and compiled here by Minimal Wave's Veronica Vasicka and Stones Throw's Peanut Butter Wolf.
The Minimal Wave musical genre was hallmarked by the use of the analog synths and drum machines manufactured in the 70s and 80s, and characterized by simple music structures made by musicians working in the early D.I.Y. asthetic: recording on tape in their home studios, creating their own album artwork, and often collaborating via postage mail. The fanzine CLEM (Contact List Of Electronic Musicians) was very influential in creating a worldwide community for this sort of music, before digital technology and the internet came into play.

Sacred Bones is proud to present The Spoils from Zola Jesus. Hailing from the unsuspecting locale of Madison, WI, Zola Jesus—the alter ego of Nika Roza Danilova—occupy a sphere of sparse industrial rhythms, no-fi drones, and ethereal femme vocals. Those who have seen her handful of live shows, heard her WFMU set, or caught any of the acclaimed, sought after, and now mostly out of print releases on Die Stasi or Troubleman Unlimited already know. For those uninitiated The Spoils may be the most fully realized representation of her sound. Zola Jesus have two previous releases on Sared Bones, the Souer Sewer single and a limited CD of a live performance from WNYU. The CD contains the entire “Soeur Sewer” 7" as well as the three songs from the Die Stasi single.

Placenta - S/T CD 9,99

(Label: Manic Depression)
At the beginning they were
CAPHARNAÜM, then APOLLONS DEPRESSIFS
During
the 80s, the name and line-up changed regularly until 1988 by the name
of ZURÜCK PLACENTA. ZURÜCK PLACENTA's music is a mix
of powerfull
Cold-wave and dark 80's gothic rock, with some industrial influences,
and even Hard-Core... The band has a strong personnality and a sharp
and heavy sound, obvious
influences, but well inetrated...In
a Post-Punk attitude (DIY), ZP will release a first demo in 1990, then
the self-titled album in 1992, produced by Jean Taxis (Asylum Party,
Babel 17, Complot Brünswick, Norma Loy…).ZP splited
in late 1992,
leaving behind them a unique and mythical album, which deserves its
rank among the weird and cult temple of French Cold-Wave. The CD
represents what was
recorded in 1992 at Studio
Val d'Orge with Jean Taxis but it never got released. Their singer is
now playing in French Post/Punk band Frustration.

Xeno & Oaklander -
Sentinelle CD 14,99 euro (Label:
Wierd Records)The long-awaited full-length debut album from Xeno & Oaklander is now available! Functioning as the absolute core of the electronic wing of the Wierd world since their beginnings in 2004, Miss Liz Wendelbo and Sean McBride here present a carefully composed, restrained and complex form of moody electronic pop music that is simultaneously romantically melancholic and affirmatively aggressive.
Recorded entirely live in the studio with exclusively analogue instruments, Sentinelle situates itself as a series of highly crafted cinematic vignettes which takes as its vantage point a fictitious era in a long-passed distant age: a time of wandering desert travelers, forgotten underwater cities, and exquisitely sculptural objects; of arid land, sea-farers and ferrymen, blinding light and lonely rooms, precious metals and poisonous corrosion. Themes of paranoia and disaffection associated with the transformation felt during the industrial revolution(a stand-in for our contemporary digital malaise), as well as odes to the many gifts of its legacy - motion pictures, cameras, synthesizers, and voltage control, are traversed throughout the epic journey of this minimal electronic masterpiece, allowing the listener to gaze out of the frozen cold window onto the many radical paradigm shifts of the twentieth century, and is a true sonic portrait of this eminently fragile era in transition.
Xeno
& Oaklander - Vigils CDr EP ltd ed 150 copies 9,99€ (Xanten) last copyDebut EP from Xeno and Oaklander, recorded entirely live in one go on October 1st, 2006. 'Vigils' is now a classic document of the many multifaceted musical activities of Miss Liz Wendelbo and Sean McBride(aka Martial Canterel). Uptempo cold, distant, echo-laden synthesizers and drum machines provide a spacious, melancholic backdrop for Miss Liz's complex ephemeral lyrical presence. These 8 trax are both intimately fragile and psychedelic suggesting an electronic equivalent of the British shoegaze bands while maintaining the wildly aggressive stripped-down DIY spirit of punk that informed the ideals of the originary wave of European minimal electronic bands. This second edition of 150 copies also contains the additional track 'Cold Forever', recorded in late 2005 which originally appeared on the Wierd Compilation(2006).

Wallenberg
- Sea Of Sins CD 9,99
euro
(Label: Manic Depression)
The
second start for one of the most important bands in the French
cold-wave scene, since Wallenberg revealed himself from 1984 to 1988
with many live records supporting Play Dead, Jad Wio, Neva and many
more and several featuring on compilations, radio shows and TV
appearances, which revealed them to the French audience, before a
premature split, although an album was planned with EMI. Wallenbeg is
back today with a new line up around Hervé (singer and
co-composer) and
the release of their first real album on Manic Depression Records in
2004. Their are currently working on a second album. Those 11 songs,
which distil a nostalgic and dramatic atmosphere, are sometimes calm
and quiet (« Welcome Home », « Why
»), sometimes unrestrained and
aggressive (« An Eye for an Eye », « Ode
to Gilles ») and give this
record a real personality, between Cold-Wave and Gothic Rock. We will
note the featuring of Denis Bortek (Jad Wio) on « Hypnotic
» which
really deserves its name, and the featuring of Elsa (Tanit) on
« If I
was another Man ».
